Volleyball Recap: Freedom Patriots vs. Plant City Raiders

Freedom's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They skirted past the Plant City Raiders 3-2. The Patriots have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Raiders, too.

Freedom wouldn't go down easily and took Plant City into a fifth set where they got it done with a six-point win. The final score came out to 27-29, 25-15, 25-17, 16-25, 15-9.

Freedom can attribute much of their success to Lola Burke, who had 12 digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Burke a new career-high.

She wasn't the only good server: Freedom was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least eight aces in five consecutive matches.

Freedom is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Plant City, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-6.

Freedom will challenge King at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Freedom is facing King at the right time seeing as King is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Plant City, they and Robinson are set to duel on Monday.
