Dawson-Bryant hit Chesapeake with a four-run first inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Hornets, falling 12-5. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Chesapeake saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peyton Muncy, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles. Another was Joe Cremeans, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

Gallia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Chesapeake, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-15.

Gallia Academy took their win against Chesapeake in their previous meeting back in April by a conclusive 14-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blue Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
