Baseball Game Preview: Walnut Mustangs vs. Saugus Centurions

The Walnut Mustangs will head out on the road to challenge the Saugus Centurions at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. The last three games Walnut has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Two weeks ago, Walnut sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 victory over Diamond Bar. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Brahmas recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Saugus lost 13-6 to Paraclete last Monday.

Abraham Ramirez made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two RBI. He has become a key player for Saugus: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least one home run, but 10-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Dacosta, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Walnut now has a winning record of 14-13-1. As for Saugus, they dropped their record down to 14-14 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
