The Fort Knox Eagles will take on the Bardstown Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Fort Knox headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Central let them put that streak behind them. The Eagles put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 14-4 victory on Monday. Considering the Eagles' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.
Nia Aldana made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Aldana was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Madisyn Schwemle was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Layna Morgan, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Bardstown can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 20-7 margin over Bullitt Central. That looming 20-7 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Tigers yet this season.
Bardstown got a massive performance out of Gracie Edelen, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Edelen also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Molly Kisegy was another key player, going 2-for-5 with four runs and two RBI.
Bardstown's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Fort Knox, their victory bumped their record up to 5-20-1.
