Recap: Glencoe Panthers vs. Coyle Bluejackets
It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Glencoe Panthers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They secured a 51-47 W over Coyle. Given Glencoe's advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 105th, while Coyle is ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Coyle's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ashlee Kelley, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Kelley is absolutely dominating the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Ryleigh Long was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 6 rebounds.
The victory makes it two in a row for Glencoe and bumps their season record up to 4-1. As for Coyle, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glencoe will take on Chisholm at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Coyle won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Waukomis at 6:30 p.m. on December 5th.
