Softball Recap: El Camino Real Wins Going Away Against Taft

El Camino Real won the last time they faced Taft and things went their way on Monday too. The Royals blew past the Toreadors 17-5. The Royals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matches by six runs or more this season.

Audrina Gonzalez looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Sarah Delgado was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Amaya Perry was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.

El Camino Real was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

El Camino Real is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Taft, they dropped their record down to 4-11 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
