Basketball Recap: Dixon Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Dixon's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They managed a 56-50 victory over the Rio Linda Knights. Given the Rams' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 601st, while the Knights are ranked 1234th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dixon's win bumped their record up to 9-6. As for Rio Linda, they dropped their record down to 3-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Dixon will face off against Woodland at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Linda, they will take on Natomas at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
