Football Game Preview: True North Classical Academy Titans vs. Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs

For the first time this season, True North Classical Academy will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to take on the Archbishop Carroll Bulldogs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with True North Classical Academy sitting on three straight victories and Archbishop Carroll on four.

On Thursday, True North Classical Academy made easy work of University Christian and carried off a 28-8 win. The Titans pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Christians cut but never quite recovered from.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead True North Classical Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zachary Katz, who threw for 251 yards and three TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes, and also rushed for 34 yards. The dominant performance also gave Katz a new career-high in passer rating (158.6). True North Classical Academy also got a significant boost from Cecil Smith, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 103 yards.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to True North Classical Academy's defense and their seven sacks. University Christian's QB won't forget Zach Eguizabal anytime soon given he sacked him three times. Eguizabal also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven. Miguel Martinez was another major factor on D, picking up a sack and making 13 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Meanwhile, Archbishop Carroll earned a 12-3 victory over Westminster Christian on Friday.

Archbishop Carroll's win bumped their record up to 4-0-1. As for True North Classical Academy, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

True North Classical Academy and Archbishop Carroll were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in September of 2024, but True North Classical Academy suffered an agonizing 20-19 defeat. Can the Titans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
