Football Preview: Cushing Tigers vs. Oologah Mustangs

The Cushing Tigers will square off against the Oologah Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cushing's defense has only allowed 11.4 points per game this season, so Oologah's offense will have their work cut out for them.

Cushing is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Grove just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 28-21 to the Ridgerunners. The Tigers gained 222 more yards on the day, but it was the Ridgerunners that made the best use of them.

Cushing might have lost, but man, Wyatt Delong was a machine: he picked up 138 receiving yards and a touchdown. Delong showed off some serious burst, connecting on a big catch for 60 yards. Roman Tucker also helped out by tossing the rock for 287 yards.

Cushing didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Tucker.

Meanwhile, Oologah was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell to Fort Gibson 36-32. One positive for the Mustangs, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Cushing fell to 4-1. As for Oologah, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
