Softball Recap: Big Spring Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Big Spring had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Shippensburg Greyhounds with a sharp 11-3 victory. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three matches by eight runs or more this season.

Rilee Stewart made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Stewart was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Izzy Fry, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Kendall Boring-Gutshall, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Big Spring's win bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Shippensburg, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.
