Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Hillsboro had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They skirted past the Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts Mustangs 6-5. This was a revenge game for the Spartans: when they faced off against the Mustangs on Wednesday, they had to take a 2-1 defeat.

Hillsboro saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Stark, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one double. Stark is becoming a predictor of the Spartans' success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is undefeated (and 4-8 when he doesn't).

Hillsboro's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 7-8. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Hillsboro will square off against Parkrose at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts, they will take on Hood River Valley at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Mustangs surely won't give up without a fight.
