Preview: Sage Creek Bobcats vs. St. Joseph Academy Crusaders
Sage Creek has been on the road for three straight, but on Wednesday they'll finally head home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the St. Joseph Academy Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. Sage Creek knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matches -- so hopefully St. Joseph Academy likes a good challenge.
Sage Creek pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were dealt a 89-57 defeat at the hands of San Marcos. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sage Creek has scored all season.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Elias Samady, who scored 20 points. The game was his third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Stephens, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it was close, but St. Joseph Academy ultimately received the gift of a 45-42 win from a begrudging Crusaderssquad. The win was just what they needed coming off of a 84-56 defeat in their prior matchup.
Sage Creek's loss dropped their record down to 8-3. As for St. Joseph Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.
Everything came up roses for Sage Creek against St. Joseph Academy when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 77-44 win. With Sage Creek ahead 43-17 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
