Volleyball Recap: Mercy Magic vs. Garrison Forest
After flying high against Liberty last Wednesday, Mercy came back down to earth. The Mercy Magic fell 3-1 to Garrison Forest on Friday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Magic of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2023.
Mercy actually scored more points across those four sets (89-88), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 13-25, 25-21, 25-23.
Mercy now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Garrison Forest, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mercy will square off against Maryvale Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Maryvale Prep will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something Mercy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Garrison Forest, they will challenge Glenelg Country at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Garrison Forest will be looking to keep their eight-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
