Basketball Recap: Franklin-Simpson Makes It 19 in a Row at Home

Franklin-Simpson entered their tilt with Todd County Central on Thursday with ten consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 11. Everything went their way against the Todd County Central Rebels as they made off with a 64-39 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 17 matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Several Rebels players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alexis Taylor, who posted 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of JaMya Kay, who put up 11 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Franklin-Simpson pushed their record up to 25-2 with the win, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.4 points on average over those games. As for Todd County Central, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-13.

Looking ahead, Franklin-Simpson will face off against South Warren at 4:30 p.m. on Sunday. Franklin-Simpson knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully South Warren likes a good challenge. As for Todd County Central, they will take on Bowling Green in a tournament on Monday. Todd County Central has given up an average of 50.7 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
