Basketball Recap: Riverheads Takes a Loss

Riverheads lost against Wilson Memorial two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Riverheads Gladiators took a blow against the Wilson Memorial Green Hornets, falling 59-26. While losing is never fun, the Gladiators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 280th, while the Green Hornets are ranked 88th).

Riverheads has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Wilson Memorial, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Riverheads will venture away from home to square off against Buffalo Gap at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Wilson Memorial, they are taking a road trip to take on Stuarts Draft at 7:45 p.m. on Monday. Stuarts Draft will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Wilson Memorial surely won't give up without a fight.
