Softball Game Preview: Jefferson West Tigers vs. Riley County Falcons

The Jefferson West Tigers will challenge the Riley County Falcons at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jefferson West has six straight victories, Riley County has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Jefferson West's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They blew past St. Marys 10-0. Considering the Tigers have won four contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Taryn Taylor was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Riley County, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
