Basketball Game Preview: Thrasher Rebels vs. Ripley Tigers

The Thrasher Rebels will face off against the Ripley Tigers at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Thrasher and six for Ripley dating back to last season.

On Friday, Thrasher was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 57-52 to New Site.

Despite the loss, Thrasher had strong showings from Brookelyn Roberts, who dropped a double-double with 25 points and 15 boards, and Olivia Tunstall, who went 6-for-11 to rack up 16 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That was a full 48.1% of the Rebels' points, marking the third time in a row Roberts has posted more than a third of the team's points. Makayla McDaniel was another key player, putting up nine points.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Ripley faced off against Walnut on Friday. The Tigers had to suffer through a 59-30 loss at the hands of the Wildcats. The contest marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ripley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Thrasher, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3.
