It's playoff time, and Burke County had no trouble coming through when it counted. They walked away with a 35-22 victory over the Rockmart Yellowjackets on Friday. The Bears are really starting to get used to good results now that the team has won 11 straight.

One reason for the win was Burke County's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. Rockmart's QB won't forget Darius Jordan anytime soon given he sacked him twice.

Burke County pushed their record up to 13-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.3 points per game. As for Rockmart, their loss ended a seven-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-3.

Burke County will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Carver at 4:00 p.m. on December 17th. Carver knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 31 points or more in their past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Burke County likes a good challenge. Rockmart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
