Softball Game Preview: Pangburn Tigers vs. Lonoke Jackrabbits

The Pangburn Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Lonoke Jackrabbits at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Pangburn has given up an average of 11 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

It was a proper cat-fight when Pangburn duked it out with Heber Springs on Thursday. The Tigers lost 17-7 to the Panthers. The Tigers' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Meanwhile, Lonoke entered their matchup against Wynne on Thursday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Jackrabbits fell just short of the Yellowjackets by a score of 4-3.

Kendra Terry spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on five hits.

On the hitting side, Lonoke saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Shaniya Jackson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Pangburn's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lonoke, the loss was their first at home, dropping their record down to 11-4.

Everything went Pangburn's way against Lonoke when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Pangburn made off with a 27-4 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Jackrabbits have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
