Softball Game Preview: Cocalico Eagles vs. Manheim Central Barons

Cocalico is on a six-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Manheim Central a three-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Monday. The Cocalico Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Manheim Central Barons at 4:15 p.m. Cocalico has given up an average of 11.1 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cocalico came up short against Eastern Lebanon County on Thursday, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Manheim Central won against Garden Spot on Wednesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Barons beat the Spartans by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-6. Considering the Barons have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Cocalico now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Manheim Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.

Cocalico suffered a grim 15-0 defeat to Manheim Central in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Eagles avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
