Baseball Game Preview: Malcolm Clippers vs. Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Warriors

The Malcolm Clippers will take on the Wahoo/Bishop Neumann Warriors in a tournament on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Malcolm comes in on 11 and Wahoo/Bishop Neumann on three.

Malcolm's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Platteview as they made off with a 7-0 win. The Clippers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by seven runs or more this season.

Not much got past Chase Smith, who gave up just five hits and racked up nine Ks to keep Platteview off the board.

On the hitting side, Brixon Meyer was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Wahoo/Bishop Neumann and Ralston meet (four straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Warriors walked away with a 5-2 victory over the Rams.

The team relied heavily on Isiah Nagle, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Wahoo/Bishop Neumann is 3-1 when Nagle posts two or more runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jase Kaminski, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Malcolm pushed their record up to 14-1 with the win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Wahoo/Bishop Neumann, the win got them back to even at 7-7.

Malcolm came out on top in a nail-biter against Wahoo/Bishop Neumann in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Clippers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Warriors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
