Soccer Game Preview: Napoleon vs. Leslie

The Napoleon Pirates will face off against the Leslie Blackhawks at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Napoleon has three straight wins, Leslie has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Napoleon's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Hanover-Horton. Considering Napoleon have won five contests by more than two goals this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leslie had taken Grass Lake down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Wednesday. The Blackhawks came up short against the Warriors, falling 6-1. Things were pretty much settled by the half as Leslie were already down 5-1.

Leslie's loss dropped their record down to 7-9-2. As for Napoleon, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6-1.

Everything went Napoleon's way against Leslie in their previous matchup last Wednesday, as Napoleon made off with a 3-0 win. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Blackhawks turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
