Baseball Game Preview: Kearns Cougars vs. West Jordan Jaguars

For the second straight game, Kearns will face off against West Jordan. The Cougars will take on the Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Kearns has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the contest with 19 straight losses, while West Jordan will come in with five straight wins.

It was a proper cat-fight when Kearns challenged West Jordan on Tuesday. The Cougars came up short against the Jaguars, falling 15-2. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2024, but that streak is no more.

For West Jordan's part, they got a great performance from Austin Gehman as he pitched five innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits.

On the hitting side, Brock Litchfield was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Brendan Wood, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

West Jordan kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kearns only managed nine hits.

West Jordan pushed their record up to 17-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Kearns, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-18.
