Volleyball Recap: Mica Mountain Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

On Tuesday, everything went the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts's way against the Sahuarita Mustangs as the Mica Mountain Thunderbolts made off with a 3-0 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Thunderbolts.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Mica Mountain took every set by at least 15 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-9, 25-10.

Teagan Powell paced Mica Mountain's offense, picking up six kills. Powell got some help from Caleb Cherry and his 22 assists. Cherry also made an impact serving: he shared the team lead in aces with Tanner Larsen, racking up three apiece.

Mica Mountain pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Sahuarita, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mica Mountain is packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game this season: they will square off against Marana at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. After both having extra time off, Sahuarita and Sahuaro will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court one another at 5:00 p.m. on March 18th.
