Basketball Game Preview: Oliver Springs Bobcats vs. Oneida Indians

Oliver Springs is 0-10 against Oneida since December of 2019 but things could change on Friday. The Oliver Springs Bobcats will welcome the Oneida Indians at 6:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Tuesday, Oliver Springs took a blow against Coalfield, falling 69-26. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 339th, while the Yellow Jackets are ranked 72nd).

Meanwhile, Oneida was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 42-40 heartbreaker at the hands of Pigeon Forge.

Oliver Springs' defeat dropped their record down to 5-21. As for Oneida, their loss dropped their record down to 9-17.

Things could have been worse for Oliver Springs, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 66-48 loss to Oneida in their previous meeting back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Oneida's Larissa Jones, who went 11-for-15 on her way to 25 points along with six boards and four steals. Now that Oliver Springs knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
