Dove Creek entered their tilt with Centennial on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Rams a 16-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in May of 2023.

Frankey Montoya made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Montoya was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cael Beanland, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Dove Creek is 7-3 when Beanland posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Liam Hassell, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Dove Creek's record is now 9-7. As for Centennial, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.

Dove Creek has already played their next contest, an 11-10 defeat against Nucla on the 28th. As for Centennial, they will square off against Antonito at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Trojans have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13.27 runs per game on average), something the Rams will no doubt try to take advantage of.
