Baseball Recap: Barker Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pembroke, Barker was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Webber Tigers 3-1. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jackson Prynn made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over 6.2 innings pitched. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

Barker's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Webber, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Barker will square off against Akron at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Webber, they will challenge Pembroke at 5:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
