Football Game Preview: Darlington Falcons vs. South Florence Bruins + How To Watch

Darlington is 0-7 against South Florence since September of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Falcons will look to defend their home field against the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Darlington is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Friday with ease, bagging a 43-0 win over Lakewood. The Falcons' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.

Darlington's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Deron Ross, who rushed for 58 yards and one TD on only five carries. Another player making a difference was Zireon Shannon, who rushed for 48 yards and one touchdown.

Meanwhile, South Florence never let their opponents score last Friday. They blew past Crestwood 42-0. The Bruins might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 31 points or more this season.

Darlington better keep an eye on Messiah Jackson. He was instrumental in South Florence's win, rushing for 53 yards and a pair of scores, while also throwing for 123 yards and one TD on only nine passes. What's more, Jackson racked up 146.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in October of 2024. Cameron James was another key back, rushing for 67 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

The victory made it two in a row for South Florence and bumps their season record up to 4-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 7 points in those games. As for Darlington, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Darlington was dealt a bruising 60-6 defeat at the hands of South Florence in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Falcons were down 39-0.
