Morrilton scored a stunning upset when it knocked off Alma, 35-7. At the time, the Airedales was ranked 24th in the state, while the Devil Dogs was 34th.

Alma suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 35-7 loss to Morrilton. Todd Dilbeck's team had been ranked 24th, but fell to 37 following the defeat.

Shiloh Christian's dynamic duo of Casey Paraday and Ryan Michaelis proved tough for Vilonia to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Paraday threw for 348 yards and four touchdowns and Michaelis had 134 yards receiving. Chris Cox helped Shiloh Christian's passing attack out by catching five balls for 72 yards.

Kevin Reynolds made the biggest impact on defense this week as Greenbrier topped Harrison. The 6-foot-1 junior grabbed one interception.

Seth Peters was the most productive running back in 5A West this week. He ran for 41 yards on 15 carries as the Panthers fell to the Eagles. Teammate Austin Fischer added to the ground attack by rushing for 35 yards.

Shiloh Christian's Paraday and Michaelis have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Paraday has thrown for 1270 yards this season, while Michaelis, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 35 catches for 658 yards. Greenbrier's Fischer leads the league in rushing yards with 325.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Cody McNabb's team takes on Randy Tribble's team. At the moment, the Devil Dogs are in third, while the Panthers are in first.

Morrilton was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Airedales 35-7. The Devil Dogs came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.
