Volleyball Game Preview: Oswego East Wolves vs. Yorkville Foxes

The Oswego East Wolves are taking a road trip to square off against the Yorkville Foxes at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Tuesday, Oswego East was able to grind out a solid victory over Plainfield Central, taking the game 2-0. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

While Oswego East won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 28-26, 25-18.

Nathan Thach was the offensive standout of the match as he had 11 digs and two aces. That's the most aces he has posted over his last six games.

Meanwhile, Yorkville had just enough and edged out Plainfield East 2-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Foxes.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Yorkville got the one that really mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 17-25, 25-21.

Oswego East's record is now 12-16. As for Yorkville, their record now sits at 10-21.

Oswego East beat Yorkville 2-0 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wolves since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
