Basketball Game Preview: Glades Day Gators vs. Moore Haven Terriers

The Glades Day Gators and the Moore Haven Terriers will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Having struggled with five losses in a row dating back to last season, Glades Day turned things around against Berean Christian on Thursday. They really took it to the Bulldogs for the full four quarters, racking up a 48-12 win. The Gators' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Glades Day's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Yoriah Gordon, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 11 rebounds, and D'Nijiah Bailey, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals. Another player making a difference was Mi'Liyah Miller, who posted five points in addition to 13 rebounds and four steals.

Glades Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 23 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

While Moore Haven didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They breezed by Okeechobee to the tune of 58-28 on Friday. The Terriers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 24 points or more this season.

Glades Day's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Moore Haven, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.

Glades Day took a serious blow against Moore Haven when the teams last played back in January, falling 79-13. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Moore Haven's Sa'Nyree Myers, who went 20 of 25 on her way to 46 points. Now that Glades Day knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
