Baseball Game Preview: Evergreen Plainsmen vs. Battle Ground Tigers

The Evergreen Plainsmen will face off against the Battle Ground Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Evergreen has given up an average of 6.8 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Evergreen is headed into Monday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Thursday. They lost 13-4 to Mountain View.

Meanwhile, Battle Ground beat Union 5-1 on Thursday. That's two games straight that the Tigers have won by exactly four runs.

Battle Ground is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Evergreen, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-12.

Evergreen came out on top in a nail-biter against Battle Ground when the teams last played back in May of 2022, sneaking past 4-3. Will the Plainsmen repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
