Basketball Recap: Camden County Comes Up Short

Camden County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 65-31 loss at the hands of the Hertford County Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, Camden County still got an impressive performance from Aaliyah Anderson, who almost dropped a double-double with 15 points and nine boards. Anderson is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in each of the last five games she's played.

It was another big night for Brooklynn White, who dropped a double-double with 20 points and ten assists for Hertford County. White also grabbed seven steals, which is notable because Hertford County is 2-1 when she posts at least five steals, but 6-10 otherwise. Janiah Everette was another key player, putting up eight points in addition to nine blocks and five steals.

Camden County's defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Hertford County, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-11.

Coincidentally, Camden County and Hertford County will both be playing Holmes the next time they take the court. Hertford County will head out to face Holmes at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Camden County will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
