Basketball Game Preview: UR Academy Lions vs. The Fletcher School Falcons

The UR Academy Lions will venture away from home to square off against The Fletcher School Falcons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in UR Academy's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three matchups.

Last Tuesday, UR Academy lost to NorthPoint Christian Academy at home by a 78-62 margin.

UR Academy might have lost, but man, Jordan Miller was a machine: he dropped a double-double on 35 points and 19 boards. With that strong performance, Miller is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Gabriel Thompson was another key player, putting up 14 points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Even though they lost, UR Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, The Fletcher School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Socrates Academy and fell 83-44. One positive for the Falcons, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

The Fletcher School's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for UR Academy, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
