Soccer Game Preview: Deer Valley vs. Thunderbird

Deer Valley is 1-6 against Thunderbird since January of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The two teams will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. Thunderbird took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Deer Valley, who comes in off a win.

Deer Valley's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over Dysart. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Skyhawks.

Kristine Borgstedt was the driving force of Deer Valley's attack as she scored both of Deer Valley's goals, bringing her season total up to three goals.

Meanwhile, Thunderbird was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against Cactus Shadows, falling 8-0. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly eight goals.

The win got Deer Valley back to even at 2-2. As for Thunderbird, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-3.

Deer Valley came up short against Thunderbird in their previous matchup back in January, falling 2-0. Can Deer Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
