Huntington Beach had won nine straight games and Roxie Shaia did her part to make it ten on Saturday. The Oilers skirted past the Camarillo Scorpions 27-25 for which the team can thank Shaia, who threw for 201 yards and three touchdowns. She has been hot, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last five times she's played.

Huntington Beach's win bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Camarillo, with the defeat, they broke their nine-game winning streak and moved their record to 21-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Huntington Beach will venture away from home to square off against Newport Harbor at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. The Sailors' defense has only allowed 6.5 points per game this season, so the Oilers' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Camarillo, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Oak Park at 7:15 p.m. on October 7.
