Soccer Recap: Oakmont Comes Up Short

Oakmont entered their contest against Mira Loma on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Oakmont Vikings fell just short of the Mira Loma Matadors by a score of 3-2. The Vikings were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Matadors apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2023.

Toby Obazee wasn't going to let Mira Loma walk away unscathed as he scored both of Oakmont's goals, bringing his season total up to four goals.

Oakmont's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-3. As for Mira Loma, their win bumped their record up to 5-3-1.

Oakmont will be playing at home against Colfax at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Colfax's last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Mira Loma, they will venture away from home to take on Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Mira Loma is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.1 goals per game this season.
