Baseball Game Preview: Rushford-Peterson Trojans vs. Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons

The Rushford-Peterson Trojans are taking a road trip to take on the Wabasha-Kellogg Falcons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Rushford-Peterson will be strutting in after a victory while Wabasha-Kellogg will be coming in after a defeat.

Rushford-Peterson barely beat Mabel-Canton the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Trojans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Cougars on Friday. The Trojans not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since May 17, 2024 (when they won 16-3).

Meanwhile, Wabasha-Kellogg started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against Plainview-Elgin-Millville. They came up short against the Bulldogs on Friday, falling 11-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Falcons have suffered since April 17th.

Tyler Hawkins was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season.

Rushford-Peterson's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11. As for Wabasha-Kellogg, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-11.

Rushford-Peterson took their victory against Wabasha-Kellogg in their previous matchup back in April by a conclusive 9-1 score. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Falcons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
