Softball Recap: Tellico Plains Bears vs. Murphy Bulldogs
Tellico Plains was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Murphy Bulldogs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on March 11th.
Addison Joines made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. That home run was her first of the season.
Joines wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Tellico Plains lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Tellico Plains' loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Murphy, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Looking ahead, Tellico Plains will head out to take on McMinn Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Murphy, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Robbinsville at 4:30 p.m.
