Costa Mesa's rock-solid defense showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. They breezed past the Godinez Fundamental Grizzlies to the tune of 28-0. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won six contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Costa Mesa's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kassandra Ramirez, who picked up 133 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Ramirez didn't just play on offense: she also defended two passes and snagged two interceptions. Myah Martinez was in the mix as well, providing Costa Mesa with two TDs.

Costa Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Ramirez.

Costa Mesa pushed their record up to 7-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 36.8 points over those games. As for Godinez Fundamental, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.

Costa Mesa wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 21-7 defeat against Fountain Valley on the 13th. As for Godinez Fundamental, they have also already played their next contest, a 20-6 loss against Buena Park on the 15th.
