Basketball Recap: Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial Starts Season with Win on the Road

Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 70-66 win over the Gambell King Polar Bear on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Huskies as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

When it comes to explaining why Gambell lost, don't look at Damian Campbell-Newhall. Despite the final result, he posted 24 points. Campbell-Newhall's evening made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tristan Campbell, who scored 18 points.

Hogarth Kingeekuk Sr. Memorial will have a chance to go back-to-back against Gambell: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
