Baseball Preview: Pleasant Valley Bears vs. Parkland Trojans

Pleasant Valley is 0-9 against Parkland since April of 2015 but things could change on Friday. The Bears will host the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Pleasant Valley's win against Louis E. Dieruff wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bears never let the Huskies get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory on Thursday. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Huskies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Not much got past Cameron King, who gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Louis E. Dieruff off the board. King has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Jake Procita was excellent, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That RBI was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Parkland had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. Parkland's victory bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Pleasant Valley, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-6.
