Baseball Game Preview: Reagan County Owls vs. Christoval Cougars

Reagan County hasn't had much luck against Christoval recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Reagan County Owls will face off against the Christoval Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Christoval took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Reagan County, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with ten losses in a row dating back to last season, Reagan County turned things around against San Angelo HomeSchool on Friday. They came out on top against the Saints by a score of 9-5. The Owls' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Meanwhile, Christoval was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 6-2 to Tulia. The contest marked the Cougars' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Ryler Hunt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Christoval's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Reagan County, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Reagan County suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Christoval in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Reagan County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
