Basketball Recap: Thornridge Comes Up Short

Thornridge was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were dealt an 89-51 loss at the hands of the Bloom Blazing Trojan. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 490th, while the Blazing Trojan are ranked 83rd).

Joe Jones was the offensive standout of the match as he posted six points and six rebounds. Those six rebounds gave him a new career-high.

Thornridge's defeat dropped their record down to 4-12. As for Bloom, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-5.

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the Thornridge Falcons challenge the Thornwood Thunderbirds at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Bloom, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Thornton at 6:30 p.m.
