Softball Recap: Saint Gertrude Comes Up Short on the Road Against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association

Saint Gertrude kicked off their season on the road on Friday and hit a couple of potholes. They lost 16-2 to the Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association Patriots. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Gators of the 14-6 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Saint Gertrude saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Sims, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one double, and one RBI.

Looking ahead, Saint Gertrude will head out on the road to take on Fredericksburg Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association, they will square off against Halifax Academy at 12:00 p.m. on March 15th.
