Baseball Recap: Columbia Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Columbia's offense. They lost 17-0 to the Eau Claire Shamrocks on Friday. The loss continues a trend for the Capitals in their meetings with the Shamrocks: they've now lost seven in a row.

Columbia's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Eau Claire, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbia will take on Fairfield Central at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Griffins have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed ten runs per game on average), something the Capitals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Eau Claire, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Chester at 6:00 p.m. on April 16.
