Soccer Game Preview: Homer vs. Palmer

The Homer Mariners will face off against the Palmer Moose at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Homer heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Friday. They lost 4-0 to Soldotna. Homer's loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, Palmer faced Ketchikan in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Moose fell just short of the Kings by a score of 2-1.

Homer's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7-2. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 11-6-2.

Homer suffered a grim 5-0 defeat to Palmer in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Mariners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
