Volleyball Game Preview: Sandia Matadors vs. Santa Fe Demons + Official Tickets

The Sandia Matadors will venture away from home to square off against the Santa Fe Demons at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandia will be strutting in after a win while Santa Fe will be coming in after a defeat.

Sandia took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Eldorado.

Sandia had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-18, 25-23, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Santa Fe faced Albuquerque in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Demons took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bulldogs. The Demons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-14, 25-27, 25-21.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 10-7. As for Sandia, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Sandia might still be hurting after the 3-0 defeat they got from Santa Fe in their previous matchup back in November of 2024. Can the Matadors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
