Yreka's Jacob Maphet rumbled for the longest rushing play in Northern this season in his game against Trinity last week. Maphet's team topped the Wolves as he sprinted for 65 yards on the play and finished with 145 in all.

Yreka scaled the state rankings by moving to 389 from 489 this week, the biggest jump in the league. Orlyn L Culp II's team climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Trinity 42-30.

Tyler Currie and Maphet gave the Miners a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Currie also contributed to the rushing game with 72 yards on the ground.

Currie and Maphet gave Yreka a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Garrett Martinez made the biggest impact on defense this week as Anderson lost to Shasta. The 6-foot-4 junior.

Maphet was the most successful running back in the league this week.

Marcus Simmons was the best wideout in Northern this week as West Valley defeated Del Norte. Simmons racked up 3 receptions for 52 yards.

Currie put up the best numbers through the air as the Miners bested Jeremy Wardrip's team. He had a total of 9 completions for 105 yards. Currie's favorite target this week was Stevie Albers, who caught 2 passes for 30 yards.

Thanks to the talents of Currie and Maphet, Yreka has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Currie is tops in the league in passing with 105 yards, while Maphet has rushed for 145 yards this season. Tops in the league in receving yards is the Eagles' Simmons, with 52 yards on 3 catches.

West Valley took down the Warriors 49-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Simmons ran for 87 yards in the win.
