After a string of four wins, Loyola Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Joliet West Tigers. The Ramblers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-21.

Joliet West got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Eden Eyassu out in front who had eight digs and three aces. That's the most aces Eyassu has posted over her last 16 matches. Lola Berta was another key player, getting five aces and four digs.

Loyola Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Joliet West, their victory was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-3.

Loyola Academy and Joliet West should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings. The Ramblers (ranked 47th) will meet Lake Forest (ranked 336th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Joliet West will face off against Yorkville at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (7 vs. 131).
